We provide e-book formatting both from the original digital format (Word or RTF) OR scanning from paperback or hardback format. We also offer rates for scanning only. Rates for converting original manuscript supplied to Web Crafters in digital format (Word or RTF) to Kindle and Nook format – fiction novel

150,000 words or under with little or no illustrations or pics (except cover ) and no heavy use of tables, fancy fonts or complex formatting

$200 - $250 if scanned by someone else
* we will have to review document for scanning accuracy/quality before setting confirming price

$200 flat fee if you have the original document in the original digital format that you used to type the manuscript (not digital format from scan)

Over 150,000 words with little or no illustrations or pics (except cover) and no heavy use of tables, fancy fonts or complex formatting

$200 flat fee if you have the original document OR

$200 - $250 if scanned by someone else (we will have to review document) PLUS add $1 per 250 words over 150,000

The above includes:

1. Conversion of documents to both Amazon Kindle format and Barnes & Noble Nook format
2. Edits during the conversion process
3. Guide for opening account(s) and uploading the files to Amazon Kindle/Barnes & Noble PubIt OR we will upload the files for you after you have supplied the necessary information.

Also, we can quickly provide a standard epub format for submission to other online retailers once the Kindle and Nook versions have been prepared. Heavy formatting of tables, fonts or extra graphics (other than the cover) will incur extra charges. Web Crafters can supply a custom quote if requested.

Over 150,000 words with little or no illustrations or pics (except cover) and no heavy use of tables, fancy fonts or complex formatting

2. Edits during the conversion process

Rate for cover design:

Budget design: $75
You supply artwork and/or search for design images using our stock photography site, maximum 3 images + title and author name

Custom design: hourly rate of $50 an hr.
Usually takes between 2-3hrs. total ($100 - $150) + cost of artwork
($25 to $50) using our stock photography site, maximum 5 images + title and author name

Rate for scanning ONLY to Word format:

300 pages or less: $50
300 - 500 pages: $75
500 - 700 pages: $100

We realize that there are service providers that charge less for scanning. However, it's been our experience in converting e-books from documents scanned from other service providers that many supply authors with documents that are un-usable or that require an inordinate amount of review and editing. The process that we use will provide you with a VERY clean copy of your book in digital format that will require minimal review and editing as a result of the scanning process. We not only use sophisticated software, but take great care in the scanning process and also review the document carefully. That is why our pricing for converting a book that's already been scanned by someone else can be the same as just having us re-scan the book. Many times, we get a better result in a quicker time period by doing this.
